Kidney Disease / Hemodialysis

Inpatient

Each year, kidney disease kills more people than breast or prostate cancer. In 2013, more than 47,000 Americans died from kidney disease.

In light of this, we created the Hemodialysis Units to provide the highest quality of care for both acute and chronic kidney and renal disease patients.  Our team of specialists and professionals include R.N.s, L.P.N.s and state certified dialysis technicians.

The Inpatient Unit, located on the third floor of the main hospital, provides care for acute patients who may need hemodialysis and of our chronic ESRD (End Stage Renal Disease) patients who are admitted in the hospital. The Unit is equipped with 7 Inpatient chairs and has 2 Registered Nurses and a Licensed Practical Nurse or a hemodialysis technician that care for the seven patients. Private patient rooms are also available if needed.

The acute Inpatient Unit provides treatments, as required, depending on the needs of the patients as determined by the nephrologist. Portable hemodialysis equipment supports dialysis needs throughout the hospital when patients are unable to be transported to the main unit.

Hours of Operation and Contact Info:

Our Inpatient unit operates Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m., all year round including holidays with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year. During these holidays the make-up day is a Sunday to accommodate the needs of the patients while still providing the six-day operation. Additionally, depending on the needs of the patients we have extended hours on an as needed basis and have nurses on call for patients who need emergency treatments after hours.
