Who is Eligible:
All full time or part time RN (exclusive of supplemental staff) may progress to
an advanced clinical level.
Purpose:
To provide recognition for professional growth and performance, quality patient
outcomes, and to serve as a mechanism for recruitment and retention.
How to Apply:
Any full time or part time RN interested in clinical level advancement.
Obtain a clinical levels packet from the Patient Care Services secretary and review
the packet with a member of the PPC and Manager/Director.
Submit completed application to your Manager/Director.
Eligibility:
All RNs who are licensed in the State of New Jersey, have completed the probationary
period at EOGH or an acute care hospital in the USA.
Application Process:
The applicant submits a letter of intent for the clinical level he/she desires.
Identify a peer to submit an evaluation,
The manager identifies a second evaluator.
FOUR CLINICAL LADDER LEVELS
Level I-Clinical Associate
Requirements:
Positive 3 mos. performance evaluation with average 2.0
Recommendation document by manager and preceptor
Resume
Completion of individual development plan that address specific indicators
Level II-Clinical Fellow
Requirements
Positive evaluation with average 2.25
Recommendation peer evaluations
Resume
Evidence that address the specific indicators for clinical practice, education,
shared governance and research with documentation of impact on key
Level III-Clinical Mentor
Requirements
Positive performance evaluation with average 2.5
Recommendation document by manager resume or CV
Evidence that address the specific indicators for clinical practice, education,
shared governance and research with documentation of impact on key outcome indicators.
Select one in each area of Clinical Indicator, education, shared governance and
research.
Level IV-Clinical Expert
Requirements
Positive evaluation with average 2.75
Recommendation document completed by manager
Recommendation document completed by colleague outside of nursing that support clinical
scholar’s positive relationship with members of the interdisciplinary team.
Evidence that address one of each indicators for clinical practice, education, shared
governance and research with documentation of impact on key out come indicators
