The Hemodialysis Units provide the highest quality of care for both acute and chronic
patients. Our team of specialists and professionals include R.N.s, L.P.N.s and state
certified dialysis technicians.
The Outpatient Unit, located on the ground floor in the Medical Arts Building,
provides care for patient with Chronic Renal Disease and ESRD (End Stage Renal Disease).
The Unit is equipped with 29 stations and also provides an isolation station for
patients on a need be basis.
The Chronic Outpatient Unit is available to meet the needs of patients. All treatments
are set up in accordance to the nephrologists orders. Most patients receive treatment
three times a week every other day. The Unit is composed of a multidisciplinary
team that includes Registered Nurses, Licensed Social Workers, Registered Dietitians,
Physicians, and NM/Director who meets regularly once a month to discuss the care
plan of the patient.
Most recently, this Unit was recognized by the Trans-Atlantic Renal Council for
achieving Significant Progress in Improvement of Patient Care Delivery Systems and
Patient Care Outcomes from 2006 - 2008.
Hours of Operations:
The Outpatient Hemodialysis Unit operates Monday through Saturday from 6:00 a.m.
- 10:00 p.m. and provides three shifts of treatments, 6-days a week all year round
including holidays with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year. During
these holidays the make-up day is a Sunday to accommodate the needs of the patients
while still providing the 6-day operation.
