The Hemodialysis Units provide the highest quality of care for both acute and chronic
patients. Our team of specialists and professionals include R.N.s, L.P.N.s and state
certified dialysis technicians.
The In-Patient Unit, located on the third floor of the main hospital, provides care
for acute patients who may need hemodialysis and of our chronic ESRD (End Stage
Renal Disease) patients who are admitted in the hospital. The Unit is equipped with
7 in-patient chairs and has 2 Registered Nurses and a Licensed Practical Nurse or
a hemodialysis technician that care for the seven patients. Private patient rooms
are also available if needed.
The acute In-Patient Unit provides treatments, as needed, depending on the needs
of the patients as determined by the nephrologist. Portable hemodialysis equipment
supports dialysis needs throughout the hospital when patients are unable to be transported
to the main unit.
Hours of Operations:
Our In-Patient unit operates Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.,
all year round including holidays with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas
and New Year. During these holidays the make-up day is a Sunday to accommodate the
needs of the patients while still providing the six-day operation. Additionally,
depending on the needs of the patients we have extended hours on an as needed basis
and have nurses on call for patients who need emergency treatments after hours.
