In 2007, East Orange General Hospital opened its doors to the newly renovated and modernized Forrest E. Brower Emergency Department. The recently transformed ER Department has doubled in size and provides state-of-the-art care.

The new Emergency Room Department features:

• Doubled the space, for maximum privacy, comfort and efficiency
• 17 monitored beds
• 4 Fast Track Beds
• Bedside registration to enhance access to care and increase patient privacy
• 15/30 Guarantee means that each patient will see a nurse in 15 minutes and a doctor in 30 minutes
• Emergency Medical Services documentation area
• New, state-of-the-art, electronic patient information system
• Larger waiting area for families and loved ones

More than 30,000 patients come through Emergency Room Department each year in need of urgent medical attention. They are treated by a team of highly-qualified physicians, nurses and support staff that provides emergency medical care in a compassionate and professional manner.

Hours of Operations:

Emergency services are available 24-hours a day, 7-days a week in the main Emergency Room and the Fast Track section of the Emergency Room.
