Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous working experience in food service will be considered and is preferred. Knowledge of proper methods used in food service. Knowledge of kitchen appliances and care of utensils. Knowledge of cleaning methods and the use of cleaning supplies. Ability to read and write simple correspondence in English. Ability to follow oral and written instructions, work independently while performing major repairs and overhauls. Ability to communicate information to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to deal with problems and offer solutions. Safe, attractive food preparation and serving of patient meal, cafeteria meals and nourishments. Prepare coffee, salads and other food according to instructions. Operates steam table, coffee urns, tray line equipment, dishwasher and various kitchen appliances. Responsible for assembling, serving and collecting patient meal trays. Stock work area with food and paper levels as required. Notifies management of faulty equipment. Complies with hospital and Food Service policies and procedures. Adheres to all customer service initiatives. Performs services to patients and cafeteria customers in a customer friendly manner
